Default Durrow Vintage Vehicle & Autojumble 22nd April 2012

At the end of a wonderful weeks holiday in Ireland, the last day was spent at the 10th Anniversary Annual Vintage Vehicle & Autojumble at Durrow, Co. Laois.
Many, many thanks to TT contributor "Steaming on", plus Rory Woolfe and his mate, members of the family of Glynn's of Carlow and Ivor Deane, for making us so very welcome and for taking time to spend chatting with Doreen & myself.
We arrived at Durrow on the Saturday evening to find Rory Woolfe's Wallis Expansion No.7626 of 1919 "Molly" on its lowloader in the town centre.

The following morning, "Molly" was the first to arrive

Followed by Wantage No. 1522 of 1908 "Pioneer"

Then came Aveling & Porter Tandem Roller No. 11363 of 1925 which was unfortunate to blow a gasket while being steamed up, so it stayed on its lowloader

The young man insisted in being in the photo!

Glynn Bros of Carlow brought their popular McLaren "Fred"

and Burrell SCC No. 2644 of 1904

Ivor Deane was booked to bring his 6 inch Foden 'C' Type but arrived with a "Berrybrook" 4inch Foster single

Conversation was very good with several people speaking very highly of "Broken Firebar", "Sawman", "V8-Spider" and others. There was a Dutch Mechanical Organ displayed by the owner of Burrell Showmans No.3295.
There were many tractors, lorries, cars and motorcycles on display including these

It was well worth extending our holiday by one day to see these 6 steamers. It was a great pity that the spirit of the show was somewhat dampened by the frequent and very heavy showers of rain & sleet.
