Default Prince of Wales at Dorset Steam Fair

No, not Charles!

I read about the first outing of Burrell Scenic Prince of Wales after 15 years restoration by the Searles in OG this month....but no pictures!

Did anyone get some good shots of my favourite engine! Please post them for us all to drool over!

Thanks for the pics - she looks a lot different than when I knew her in the 60's - looks like the lining out is now just black and white without the gold and yellow/red. Inside of the roof used to be the traditional pale green. Wonder if the Searles have restored her to the orginal Thetford delivery spec....hope there is some more information on the restoration in next month's OG. Any one know anything more?

A little memory-jogger for you. This was taken at The Festival of Transport at Hellingly in Sussex in the early years of that event. I don't know the year, unfortunately my records ar non-existant for this long ago, but I would estimate 25-30 years ago. There are a lot of differences.

There are a lot of differences.

Same engine from about the same angle, go ahead and spot the difference

More pics of this engine can be found by clicking here

Thanks for that, saved me doing it! Is there a prize for he/she who spots most?

Can I go first...

Its a different colour.

Sam.

(And no lamps on now, no nip guard, new smokebox, ammeter and voltmeter are somewhere else, no artifact on the belly tanks anymore)

I'm going to add to that by saying that the lightbulbs on the front top of the canopy seem further back than they used to be.
