Burrell 6nhp SCC TE 1901. Double drive 2 speed no 2409. This engine has been extensively overhauled with a complete new UK built boiler of the correct riveted construction to the works drawings (CE compliant and stamped)
We rebored the cylinder, new rods,pistons,crosshead,valve rods, various bearings, chimney base, some gears, tender rebuilt, etc etc too much to list in full on here.
It is a New Zealand engine and has a known very interesting history there. We have brought it back to the UK several times now for the restoration process and it is currently back in NZ with my co-owner in South Island. It can never be permanently exported from NZ but it can come out on a licence for holidays here! It fits straight into a 20ft high cube container on its wheels with only the chimney, governor and safeties taken off. Currently the cost of shipping is less than a low loader trip up to Scotland so not a big deal.
The value is less than here in the UK so anyone who wants a truly sorted characterful engine with a new boiler. Pm , e mail or ring me for more details. Please no time wasters though, this is for someone prepared to think out of the box and try something different. NZ interest obviously would be particularly welcome .
