My worry is if I start messing with the spindle and gears it will be more like £300+ because I will want to change the bearings which are white metal which no longer exist and then I would need to buy the bronze bearings instead which then will eat the soft spindle so I will need to buy the hardened spindle.
If I can get used gears I will feel much better about it.
