The Burrell 5 horse compound , single or double crank , was named by Burrells as their Devonshire type because they sold it as suitsble for the small tight lanes and small stackyards in that part of the world . It was a very useful and versatile engine which was very popular . Some 5 horse double crank engines carried a small bore 6 horse cylinder and crank and were not of the lighter design . Burrells also produced an Aberdeenshire type and an Irish type .
