FOR SALE - 4" Scale Burrell Traction Engine

This Modelworks Burrell was started in 2006 and not completed until 2009. It was built by an elderly gentleman in Scotland to become an ornament in his Country Home. It spent nearly a decade sitting by a radiator in a Grand Hallway as a talking point for his guests.

The engine when completed in 2009 was only run a handful of times on compressed air before taking pride of place in their hallway.

I purchased the engine in September and have carefully gone over it and stripped/replaced and cleaned what needed attention before finally bringing it into steam for the first time and putting it through it's hydraulic & steam tests.
For those who are not aware, Modelworks were the precursor to Steam Traction World and as such the vast majority of parts are interchangeable with the STW traction engine. The current STW kit list price is just under £16,000 (without the rubber tyres). Also These early Modelworks boilers have copper tubes fitted which should outlast the newer design with steel tubes.
