For sale: 1909 10hp McLaren road loco.

Two engines is too much for one person on their own, and the time spent maintaining one running engine is time spent not rebuilding the other, so I have decided that it's time for the Mac to move on. The Marshall's been ten years in its rebuild so far, and that's too long!

Work over the last few years includes:
New chimney, including base and top,
Mostly new belly tank. The top and part of the back are original,
New main and big end bearings,
New crank and second shaft gears,
New second shaft and bearings in line bored housings,
Turned third shaft and new bearings in line bored tunnel,
Remachined connecting rod little end eyes, new bearings and gudgeon pins,
LP valve plane and new rod,
New safety valve valves, resulting in a proper safety valve lift and reinstatement of the original 200psi WP (previously 190),
New tubes and several necked stays replaced,
New manhole and mud doors properly fitted to their holes,
New firebars and ashpan,
Motion covers made and fitted.

It comes with 4 spare firebars, brass chimney top, governors, chimney lid, ashpan rake, but no clinker shovel, tube rake or toolbox full of tools. I've only got one set of those to cover both engines.

POA. If anyone is interested send me a PM here or call me on 0277170092.

Cheers, Freddy

And apologies for the wonky picture - it was the right way up on the computer screen before uploading, and my computer literacy doesn't extend to knowing how to right it!
