Cracking pictures - thanks for posting them.
Are Sunset and Sunrise owned together, or were they just reunited at the rally? Cheers Carl |
Both in the Saunders collection

Is this meeting stationary. Are the engines allowed to move around.

For the full size engines, they have to go to a water bowser, it is not brought round ( other than working showmans engines). Also, by mandating a clockwise direction on site, engines need to do a full lap to get water. Sitting at the beer tent is discouraged too, with a 1hr max rule ( not sure how well that is actually enforced). Miniatures are located at the opposite end of the site to the beer/food area so again, encourages movement. Then there are the arena parades. There is also a "play pen" with loaded trailers. 3 day rally so lots of action. Well done to the organisers, it was good to be back there. Weather was excellent as well, which helped! Dave |
Great photos thanks for posting.

I attended on Saturday, was an excellent show for steam folk like us. The roomy site probably helped. There is less of the other sort of stuff we would usually expect at other rallies - not so much historic commercials, tractors, military vehicles, cars etc. Probably why its roomy. But you can go an look at the Aeroplanes etc etc and ride some 1920's buses. There was so many engines to see and folk to talk to I never got round to it. Well worth the 20quid IMO. |
