Aveling & Porter roller scrapers
Wanted roller scrapers to complete the restoration of my little 'B' type. I have one off the front steering bracket but none of the others. Any bits in any condition considered.
Thanks Roger 07952 386 837 roger.white@naturalimpacts.com |
Are B type the same as R10 ?
|
Not sure but I assumed Avelings would have used the same cast bits and springs and if required altered the steel parts. Therefore anything/size would be a help.
Thanks. Roger |
I have a complete one for the steering brkt, I don't think it matters if it's left or right.
I will dig it out on Thursday and post a picture. |
Isn't the b type a compound piston valve 6 tonner?
|
Yes
|
Hi Tom,
See why you asked. Yes the 'B' type is a 6 tonner but I assumed that we were only comparing scraper sizes between a 'B' and a R10. Roger |
The business end of the scraper is the same for all models save the actual plate that does the scraping.
Its the length of the pole and mounting that varies. Nothing that cant be adjusted with the magic blue light. My Fowler had an Aveling scraper on it for a spell. |
I'm after 2 scrapes for a mate of mine to finish off F type 12088 should there be a huge influx of them.

Here is the Scraper,
