Steam Scenes 19th June 2010 10:20 PM

Ashby Magna Midsummer Vintage Festival 2010

My local rally, I went over this morning for a couple of hours. Not so long ago this event could muster a double figure engine count but sadly not anymore, just 4 steamers present. Still the sun came out and there were quite a few TT members to chat to.

My contribution to the pink stationary engine craze that seems to be sweeping the nation.

Yes David, pink appears to be the colour of choice for fashion conscious engine owners this year. Excellent pictures as always, the two Aveling diesel rollers look good.

Great Weekend

It is sad that so few steam engines were there but it was a very enjoyable weekend nevertheless. The weather on the Sunday was perfect and the crowds were out, all seeming to enjoy themselves, the queue for the invitation steering was very long with all ages trying their hand on the steering wheel.

We enjoyed a short road run on the Saturday evening to the local pub in company with Peter van Houten's Foden lorry. :D
