A Traction Engine Gathering
Bressingham Steam Museum held a 'Gathering' over 26th/27th June, which gave some of the local 'usual suspects' their first opportunity to get together since the dim and distant 'pre covid' days.
Here we have Ruston & Hornsby 'Oliver' getting together with Fowell 'Percy' and Robey Showman's Tractor 'Bathsheba', with the unique Young's portable in the background. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=62759 Here is 'Bathsheba' getting some attention. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=62760 Variations on a theme, Garrett Tractors 'Agathis', 'Empress' and 'Bunty'. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=62761 'Agathis' is strictly wood burning, hence the logs. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=62762 The Youngs of Diss portable was belted to a Marshall drum. For complete authenticity, there were rats in the trailer load of last year's wheat, but they were too quick for my camera. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=62763 The Youngs again. Looking very smart after it's recent restoration. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=62764 Another unique portable, the Burrell DCC that lives at Bressingham. (Drivers seem to be well looked after here.) https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=62765 Burrell roller 'Buster', complete with scarifier. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=62766 'Percy' off for a trundle. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=62767 'Percy' again, in the more picturesque part of the grounds. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=62768 'Empress', having trundled. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=62769 There were a hand full of miniatures as well, including this handsome MacLaren, on its first public outing since changing hands. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=62770 And this lovely Burrell, on its first public outing since completion. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=62771 Bressingham also has a number of stationary engines, including this very pretty beam engine- which was not stationary at the time. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=62772 It was really good to meet people again and see engines in steam. Thanks to all who were there. Bill. |
Planned that wrong! I was up staying at the daughters beginning of the week and we visited Tuesday, first time for many years. Should have gone this weekend instead lol.

We went on the Sunday and I have posted some not not very different pictures.
https://www.internationalsteam.co.uk.../ukindex21.htm There was plenty of time to visit the excellent gardens before the sun finally put in an appearance. |
We went on Sunday, it was great to see a good variety of things in steam again there, visiting engines , the stationary engines , portables and even Bunty and Buster ! Well done to all that organised the event.

Would've loved to go, but made a deal with someone which means I won't be going to any more rallies until after my second covid-19 Vaccine in August
