Traction Engine Register (8th edition) 2000

My copy of the 2000 Traction Engine Register is falling to bits. Does anyone have a copy in a good clean condition that theyare willing to sell. Tried to buy one advertised on Abe books as 2000 edition but was sent 2004 so very disapointed.

I do, but it's 12 miles away and I can't get to it currently...

I have tried to purchase copies of the traction engine register on ebay and via ABE Books and neither are reliable sellers. I have on more than one occassion received a copy different from what I have ordered. I would suggest that you check the ISBN numbers to ensure that you receive the correct edition and above all moan like hell if the wrong one is sent. Sometimes you get a refund and you are still allowed to keep the wrong copy for free.

Perhaps when buying privately offer the seller £3.62 plus packing materials. For a TE Register £3.62 pays for a Hermes Courier to collect it from the sellers home and deliver it to your house 3 to 5 days later.

Since Covid, I have used Hermes a lot and I have found them to be very reliable. You can even choose the day that you want them to collect a parcel from you. Also, you automatically get a tracking number which you can email to the receipient.

I did complain to the seller that the register i was sent was not the one I had ordered and as Thomas said above nice apology received, they told me to keep the book and gave me a full refund which was in my account within 24 hours. That was as far as I am concerned was good good customer relations wish all suppliers were like that.
