More travels with Percy
As there are not so many engines to be seen out and about, I hope a few more pictures of 'Percy' won't come amiss. He is Fowell no. 108 of 1922, belonging to Stuart Hines, the chairman of the E.A.T.E.S. They were on their way to support the Miniature Steam Weekend at Bressingham.
I found Percy outside the Royal George, while the crew were having lunch. Please note, the rubber strakes are the right way round. It's the way Fowell's fitted the originals. Unfortunately they serve to pour water over the steersman's left foot in the rain. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=60329 Taking water after lunch. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=60331 Oiling up and wiping down. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=60332 As seen from the neighbour's garden. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=60330 Turning right. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=60333 Passing South Lopham war memorial. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=60334 Near Pooley Street, in the sunshine. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=60335 Tackling a Norfolk hill. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=60336 Now downhill again. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=60337 Looks like a good place to stop. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=60338 Checking the water lifter hose. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=60339 The usual suspects. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=60343 Not much clearance in the garden. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=60341 Back onto the road. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=60342 Finally, the excuse for the trip. Percy passing Garrett no. 32936 'Felsted Belle' in the yard at Bressingham during the miniature weekend. The event was being covered by a professional photographer, so you can read - and see - all about it in one of the monthlies in due course. https://tractiontalkforum.com/pictur...ictureid=60344 To miss-quote and old radio show, "If you have been, thanks for looking". Also thanks to Stuart and Percy for another great day out. Bill. |
