Well said JW. Don’t see the point in busting a gut to get a boiler ticket when we can’t take our steeds out anyway!

Thanks for your suggestions folks, but I am not working at the moment

I am respecting the government lock down and not travelling.

I consider the coronavirus pandemic to be a threat to life as we know it and travelling round the country irresponsible at this time. Yes it will hit me in the pocket at this my busiest time of year, but I consider health is more important than money.

I heard today of an inspector still travelling half the length of the country to do an inspection, even stopping on route to fit another job in; I ask you is this right?

Stay safe folks, stay at home. We are all in this together.

JW

Well said.

Hi,
I can recommend Chris Shuttleworth, he is based in East Yorkshire, Foston on the Wolds.
He does both my 6" McLaren, and 9" Burrell, so is used to big scale models, very reliable, and professional.
His number is 07970452092.

Can recommend Chris. He does my boilers

Totally agree with the social distance so cant do the actual test but the paperwork side is on with now so at least moving in the right direction.

At the moment, no boiler inspector needs to travel. We must all realise by now, that no steam rallys or heritage rail will be operating for the forseeable future. At least for this year. Why owners or operators whould even think about getting an engine tested at the moment, is beyond me. All the insurance companies know and understand this. Why would anyone sensible ask or have someone to travel to there premises and test such. Corona Virus has claimed a number of lives up to now. Don't make it any worse.

I've given up on this year, can't see anything happening except some end of season pub do's and bonfire parties.

I had my cold test in Feb, when the inspector left I put the fusible back in and the firebars and it's not been touched since.
