Is it?

They are trying to build an authentic scene in the various parts of the site with period vehicles and the owners all in correctish dress.

Whilst the site is fairly roomy, once it is full of vehicles it gets quite congested. Miniatures would not help at all, and would make it fairly dangerous in places.

I am disappointed that they do not want my 1953 Morris Van but the cut off date is 1930 for vehicles, so I just live with it.

The possible way out of this would to have an area with a display of miniature working steam.
Also have set times for vehicles to drive around the site ?
I may be wrong but I do not think their are any control over vehicle movement at large events like the G.N.S.F.
After all they have their own miniature steam train.

Vehicle movement is do what you like, and it works well. Set times would make in a lot less enjoyable and I believe the random nature of movement is a big plus with the public, they never know what they might see next.

I like miniatures, we own one but I don't really see a place for them at the GNSF. The site is fairly rammed with full size vehicles.

Surely the best way would be to have a weekend solely dedicated to model engineering, a sort of Alley Palley out in the open.

There have been a few goes over the years, but isolated and unintentional!
