Youngs of Diss display at Bressingham

The Bressingham Steam Museum recently held a special display of the products of local engineering firm E Youngs & Co of Diss.
(See: https://www.tractiontalkforum.com/sh...ghlight=Youngs)

The only surviving Youngs portable arrived behind 'Oliver', the 1920 Ruston & Hornsby no. 113043 owned locally by the Wheeler family, who also own and have restored the portable.

It was belted-up to one of the very few surviving Youngs drums, also owned by the Wheelers, which then turned for the first time for many years.

This despite running on reduced pressure - see thread referenced above.

Many parts of the drum and other equipment on display proudly showed their origin, but I'll stop at one picture as this is a steam forum.

This picture may just reflect that everything is going well!

Descendants of Elijah Youngs had come from as far as South Africa, as well as the UK, for the event and posed with the Wheeler family. (Note the mini 'Oliver'.) The Youngs display board is a copy of the one they used at the Norfolk Agricultural Show when it came to Diss in 1923 (?). (This photo thanks to Clive Flack.)

Despite the weather, there were some non-Youngs engines there too. 'Oliver' of course:

Garrett 'Felsted Belle' - I've seen her before somewhere!

Plus the Bressingham 10 ton DCC Burrell roller 'Buster':

Both of whom trundled round the museum yard:

Finally a couple of miniatures braved the weather, including this 4 1/2 ins Burrell Agricultural:

And this newly build 4 ins Burrell Road Loco:

The crew weren't even put off by the rain:

A big thank you to Bressingham and Jonathan Wheeler and family for organising this event. The last person to actually be born Youngs was my Aunt Peggy.
Bill.

Thanks Bill. I would upload some more photos but despite frequent requests to help me solve this issue it's now been a year since I've been able to!
