Fowlerman 13th August 2008 08:23 PM

I will be there from Thurs to Sun a.m. Not taking anything over. Entered Foden 'Dorset Rambler' but they didn't want it AGAIN. Said I should try next year AGAIN. Seems to be a bit of a CLICK there which I haven't mastered yet!!!

Thats the impression that I get too, I think that they should choose a different selection every year.

Makes no odds to me as I'm not bothered about taking the roller, but on the whole I think that most of the engines seem to have the same pitch every year, gets a bit predictable.

It's a great event but it does seem to re-enact the same engines in the same place every year.

From my (biased) point of view nothing will ever surpass the Burrell event, it was the best, no doubt, followed a close second by the NTET 50 event.
The problem with putting on such fantastic events as these is that following years events seem a bit tame by comparison if you see what I mean.

chief polisher 13th August 2008 10:00 PM

I would of thought the more the merrier!

I'd heard a rumour that they were getting lazy & only invites to past exhibitors get sent out if you want to try & get in with a new exhibit.... its a bit difficult..... maybe invest in a dynamo.... ;)

steamy1 14th August 2008 08:31 AM

I know someone with a showmans and they wanted to take something else instead but they were told to take the showmans.
