The `SODEM` Road-Run event in the `New Forest` Hants.

The forecasted Rain for Saturday the 9th of November proved to be accurate but we went ahead with around 16 Steam, mostly Foden Wagons/Tractors, a very enjoyable event as I am fairly sure most would agree, we visited the Forest Brewery where we did some Beer Tasting, very pleasing for me at least was to see Tom Mayhew had brought Burrell `Pride of Worcester` back in the area she had been based from 1935-1942 with Arnold Brothers.
On to the Langley Tavern where the Bars soon filled with people, the Bar Maid served 48 Pints of Beer alone, many could not get served at all before we left, the problem was most of the Crews went in the Pub due to the Wet and Cold rather than stay outside drinking their cans.
Then to Exbury Club for a Barbecue for those that didn't get lost due to a Road closure, on through the Forest to Blackfield British Legion Club and return to Jolly Sailor for Hog Roast and Live Music.
All the roads we travelled on for the Run were the roads my family had driven their Engines over during the 70 or more years they had Threshed, worked the Rackbench and Hauled Bricks and so many other Goods.
Thank you to all who came and took part on the Run, those that Marshalled and Tanker Crews and those that came to support the Jolly Sailor, Danny and Joe Dovey and my Family who organised this 2019 SODEM Event to make a very friendly and enjoyable week-end although wet for most of the Saturday Morning.

The WW2 Jeep was to carry the Legion Flag but we could only go so far due to the wet.

I hope our Daughter and Partner are not thinking her Inheritance is going to stretch to something like Pride of Worcester.

Our New Forest Ponies that run wild all owned by what are known as Commoners, persons that have ancient rights attached to properties to Graze the Forest as I also have, they didn't like the Steam Whistle.
