I think this show took place at the tractor museum in the humourously-named Windpassing (see http://www.traktorenmuseum-windpassing.at/index.htm). Here is the information I have on some of the engines.
HSCS TE/self-moving PE #58768 of 1927. The rear wheels have the MAVAG name on them though, so perhaps they provided conversion kits for various portables to make them self-moving? http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/09/franz/RIMG3175.jpg Brünn Königsfelder RR #1262 of 1916. http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/09/franz/RIMG3318.jpg Umrath PE #1702. http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/09/franz/RIMG3272.jpg MAVAG PE. http://www.steamscenes.org.uk/tth/09/franz/RIMG3223.jpg |
I think the self moving Portable is a fantastic bit of kit.

Agreed there. What's the handle sticking forward at the base of the chimney for then? I see the worm drive and cog which seem to have a wire which runs up the front of the chimney. What's this in aid of?
An engine like this would be a worthwhile and interesting new build I think. Joe Ignore that. Just figured it out. Being a bit thick there. |
Look in between the heads of the two chaps stood to the left. Did v8 Spider attend this rally then? Hehe

Me again. I haven't quite figured this out. What's the second wire behind the chimney then? First photo on the second row shows it well.

Looks to me like it may be a damper in the chimney

Niels idea seems to make a bit more sense to me. |
I like the sight glasses on the main bearings of the self moving portable.
