FOSTER STEAM TRACTION ENGINE MECHANICAL LUBRICATOR

Up for auction is this rarely found, original, mechanical lubricator by William Foster & Co Ltd. OF LINCOLN. This is the type regularly found on traction engines and steam rollers. I was told this one used to be fitted to a Burrell agricultural engine. It has sat gathering dust on my shelf for a while.

All appears to be in good order, I have tested it myself, and it is in full mechanical working order, and pumps very well. ready to fit on any traction engine today.

The lubricator is 7" tall, 5" wide and 3 1/4" deep (approx) and comes compleate with strainer and full working ratchit gear and linkage arm, and winding handle.

Nothing like hard sell is there!

No doubt you will be so kind as to donate a percentage of the sale price to TT for the free advertising.

I was just reading about this in a group message on Facebook.

Good old copy-and-paste description from the one we sold a few weeks ago (using the correct eBay section of the forum). Nice to see some imagination being used...

I belong to Toronto Society of Model Engineers. Our normal policy concerning items sold at our meetings or at private auctions or sales held for members only is that 10 % of the sale price be retained by the club for our funds. Items advertised in the proper advertisement section of our newsletter are advertised free of charge , with no expectation of payment of any kind to the club. Perhaps we should institute a similar policy here.Regards David Powell.

...would that be 10% for each section an item is listed under?! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/s...onfused004.gif

Therefore the same item listed in 5 different sections would gain a 50% commission for the forum... http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/s...aughing009.gif

and list it in 11 different sections... *cry

No need to throw your toys out of the pram is there?

All you needed to do is post it in the for sale section or ebay section & that alone as most members will read that section anyway!

Good luck with the sale!!!

all i was trying to do was help some one out who might be looking for a foster lubricator, and at the same time keep my head above water, as times are very hard for those of us with out a job, and a traction engine(s) to look after. BUT!!!!! its not just this that has made me to decide to leave this site (once a few things i am interested in have finished), its other things on this site to, not with/at me, but the bitchyness i see towards other people, and a lot of people think the same as me. its also the same on the stationary forum i was on, i could see the bitchness taking place, and i had to stop and think did i realy was be a part of that. all i can say is that aint it a shame that the warm friendship and welcoming hands that we all find on the rally fields are not recipicated on this site. its silly things tbh like crisisum of people spelling mistakes, and when some one offers infomation gainded by years of experiance, people get bitchy and say what they are trying to to tell people its not right, or poke holes in there spelling, grammer, or puncuation!

it wouldnt be fair for me to name the people who also feel the same, but if you ask around you will find people who feel the same as me. The bitchyness i obseve dose show a tendercy of imaturety on some people. i know we all have are moments, especialy wilst under the influence, and we all get worked up if we dont agree with something, but is the bitchyness realy neccercary, and risk upsetting people. we are all suposed to be one happy band of steam enthusiasts, and its devisions with in our movement, and the failure to play as a team at times, that is letting some organisations posable doing things on our behalfs that we dont neccersserly agree with.

think how nice it would if every one on this site could get along with no bitchyness or nastyness.

how many more have left this site becouse of this, and how many have yet to leave???

Had the lubricator been posted in the correct section then there would have been no problem.
It seems that a simple mistake was made which can easily be rectified.

The forum sections need to kept in order.
